The Sonning is our latest 12 pair limited edition loafer from our good friends at Crockett & Jones and we can’t wait to share it with you. When we first got our heads together with the team at Crockett & Jones we knew we wanted to build on the success we have had with our previous collaborations, see the Alex in dark brown suede, the Molton in tan Scotch Grain and the exclusive Wensum, made only for us. But when it comes to the standout Sonning it all started with our Managing Director Marc Debieux being let loose in the Crockett & Jones extensive archive.
Made on their 375 last, the leather and suede combo with the addition of the Goodyear welted Superflex sole has caused quite the stir on the shop-floor. But where did the inspiration for this two-tone Kiltie style come from, we hear you cry? Well if ‘quiet luxury’ is the new hot topic in the fashion world, catapulted by the exceptional HBO series Succession, then this loafer is surely its nemesis. Talking of Succession did you note the Crockett & Jones name-drop as the must-have business shoe in series one? We obviously couldn’t agree more.
Back to the question in hand though, we’ve long been fans of the playful ‘Preppies’ look from the 1980’s and we couldn’t wait to create our own version.
