Navy Suede Monk Slippers
£195.00
The Navy Suede Monk is a hand-turned soft soled house slipper with a high cut vamp. Due to the shallow toe box on the 1849 last we recommend buying 1/2 size larger than your usual size. If you have a wider foot, we recommend going for a full size larger.
Made by hand in our Norwich workshop where we have been making footwear since 1874. Our skilled artisans continue to maintain many of the original shoemaking practices such as clicking, turning and lasting all by hand.
Made in England.

More Information
One of the oldest shoe manufacturing techniques is the turn slipper, some say dating back to the 14th century.
Made from 2 pieces of material stitched together and made inside out, before being ‘turned’ to disguise the closed line to the inside of the shoe.
Turn slippers have long been part of Norfolk shoemaking history, introduced to the county by the large group of ‘Strangers’ that settled here in the 16th Century, specialising in weaving and shoemaking.  Â
Please note any customised styles are not eligible for refund. Â
